I'm just pointing out that if one wants to discourage economic migration one has to work for greater economic parity between countries - both as a moral obligation and a practical concern.noismshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09933436762608669966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23683658.post-76105282182006355662007-09-19T13:09:00.000-04:002007-09-19T13:09:00.000-04:00Excellent post, Bilbo. There are, unfortunately, many suffering US Citizens with long US lineage who were born into meak conditions within their own country and must struggle to reach beyond the limitations they face every day.

That said, I enjoyed this article and do agree with the points you have made.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03808321718135225905noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23683658.post-87517248151294011302007-09-19T07:47:00.000-04:002007-09-19T07:47:00.000-04:00I second that amen. However since his family is so good at doing things through the right channels he might get into a regular college by pretending that he's still in Mexico and coming here to be educated. The Mistress of the Darkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16923975714269274370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23683658.post-18695813417891284162007-09-19T06:23:00.000-04:002007-09-19T06:23:00.000-04:00I think that Western societies are faced with a mo...I think that Western societies are faced with a moral problem, though, because people in our countries have a comparatively luxurious lifestyle for no better reason than that we were lucky enough to be born in a certain place. We certainly don't work harder for our wealth than people in the developing world; our riches are fundamentally injust.

That doesn't excuse illegal immigration, or Christian's whining. But it does mean that being tough on immigration requires the moral corollary that there must be some form of redistribution of wealth to poorer countries. Otherwise the whole system is grotesquely unfair.noismshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09933436762608669966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23683658.post-25139127125555334772007-09-19T06:22:00.000-04:002007-09-19T06:22:00.000-04:00Amen.Signed,Son of a naturalized citizen.Amen.
Signed,
Son of a naturalized citizen.John A Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07777330742400065045noreply@blogger.com
