Losing ... or Choosing ... My Religion*

There are several topics one is warned against discussing in polite company. Politics is one. Religion is another. Since this is an election year, and one party is wrapping itself in the righteous mantle of The Almighty, it's going to be tough to avoid either topic, even though it's a consummation devoutly to be wished**.

But what if you don't have a religion? How can you recognize and avoid discussions about that which you don't have?

Enter my co-worker Brenda, who yesterday sent me this useful chart which will help the undecided select the appropriate religious belief system ...

It's hard to read, but click on it and it will open larger in a new window ("click it to big it," as Mike would say).

Don't thank me, Dear Readers. It's all part of my efforts to keep you sane and out of trouble ...

Have a good day. More thoughts tomorrow.

  1. I enjoyed following the different options on the flow chart.

I tell people here in the Bible Belt that I worship Jon Frum. Bring on the cargo!

  2. Discussions about religion tend to lead to arguments, not discussion. This is why people tend to shy away from it, but it's like ignoring the elephanty in the bedrrom. I wish political parties would never play the Religion card.

Who would St. Francis vote for? He's not around to speak up now.

I think that football has become a religion for some people.

  5. I followed the chart. I got to rich and insane and realized I'm only half way to that point.

  6. Elvis - in college, I told the annoying proselytizers that I was a Druid. They didn't know what to say.

Angelique - St Francis would probably vote for the Washington Redskins.

Peg - I liked that cartoon, too. I have another one that was better, but I couldn't find it when I needed it.

    Duck - Good thought!

    Mike - You're not alone.
