The Right Cheek Ass Clown for June, 2016

With all the political and religious shenanigans going on, you have to force yourself to look farther afield for stupidity worthy of our twice-monthly Ass Clown awards ... but it can be done, and I've done it. And so with the usual flatulent blare of trumpets, we announce

The Right Cheek Ass Clown Award for June, 2016

presented to

The Worst Father of 2016 (So Far)

According to this news report, an Idaho man has been sentenced to four months in jail for taking his pregnant 14-year-old daughter to Missouri and having her marry a 24-year-old family friend who had raped her, because he believed that a man should marry a girl he gets pregnant. The father and the convicted rapist were not identified in the news story in order to protect the identity of the girl.

The daughter's pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.

For treatment of a child one would expect in a remote Afghan village rather than in 21st-century America, The Worst Father of 2016 (at least so far) is named our Right Cheek Ass Clown for June 2016. Don't bother sending him any Fathers' Day cards.

Have a good day. See you tomorrow for Cartoon Saturday. More thoughts then.

  1. This is incredible! No normal father would do that! I think that going after the rapist with a shotgun would be more appropriate.

The girl needs to be placed in foster care, or anywhere away from that toxic father!

  2. I remember reading about that. Seems that Idaho and Missouri have some backwoods crazies like the deep South. And family friend? Are they sure it wasn't cousin?

  4. I'm disappointed he only got 4 months. He deserves a lot more.

  5. Such a disgusting guy- The best part of him ran down his father's leg when he was conceived.

Despite working a psychiatric career in all ages, settings, and severity of illness, I am still amazed at what people can be capable of doing. What a maroon, as Bugs Bunny would say.

As always, a great choice Bilbo!
