Welcome to the first Cartoon Saturday of May, 2017. You know you need it ...
The Internal Revenue Service has announced that it will contract collection of some tax debts to commercial debt collection agencies; House Republicans rammed through their "replacement" for the Affordable Care Act - without holding any hearings on it, without getting the Congressional Budget Office's report on its economic effects, and in spite of the objections of every major stakeholder; Buckingham Palace announced that Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II, will retire from public life in August; Donald Trump signed a new executive order on Thursday which eases restrictions on political activity by religious organizations; and in Canada, public health authorities have launched a nationwide recall of Bombay Sapphire gin after some bottles were discovered to contain almost twice the advertised amount of alcohol (77%, rather than 40%).
Since today is World Naked Gardening Day, I thought it would be appropriate to share a few cartoons based on plants and gardening. You'll have to use your imagination on the naked part ...
This is how it often seems that the local animals view my garden ...
I think I'll pass on the exotic plants ...
Me, too ...
Fake news, fake plants ...
What pirates do in their spare time ...
I wonder if this could be the ultimate result of genetic manipulation of plants ...
A really good gardener can grow puns, too ...
How we talk to our plants in 2017 ...
What happens when you don't define your terms properly ...
Everybody's gotta start someplace ...
Have a good day and a great weekend. More thoughts tomorrow, when Poetry Sunday returns.

I'll try texting my plants......they need help!
ReplyDeleteI need to let one (and only one) of my neighbors know it's naked gardening day.
ReplyDeleteI think a controlled burn would be kinda fun.
ReplyDeleteThese are good!
ReplyDeleteI actually did a controlled burn on my grass one year, in a previous life (and house). My current yard is all gravel. It's not coal, though, so it won't burn.
"M" plants -- seen nightly at thr Boobie Bungalow.
ReplyDeleteThe Zen Garden class is hysterical. I'm passing that one on; thanks!
