Cartoon Saturday

It's a new month, school is back in session, and the news is just as bad as ever. Sigh ...

As Texas deals with the devastation and environmental impacts left in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, the East Coast braces for the coming of another potentially powerful storm, Irma; in Scotland, a pair of "out of control pensioners" rampaged naked through a hotel, threatening other guests and destroying property; an ongoing review of operations at Wells Fargo Bank has revealed an additional 1.4 million unauthorized accounts opened in the name of existing customers by bank employees seeking to meet sales goals; in Kenya, the Supreme Court has ordered a repeat of September's disputed presidential election, having found the election "null and void" because of voting irregularities; and North Korea fired a missile directly over Japan in its ongoing attempts to intimidate the US with direct threats to the US territory of Guam.

Sick of bad news, tinpot dictators, "unprecedented" natural disasters, and inept government? There's probably an app for that ...

Well, the Labor Day weekend is underway, marking the traditional end of summer. This year's summer has been tough, but one hopes that the traditional good-heartedness and generosity of real Americans will help pull us through the current troubles.

Have a good day and a great weekend. If you are traveling over the holiday, be safe - I need you all.

More thoughts tomorrow.

  1. An app for parental advice? I think many teens could live with that!

A nap app is a great idea! Love the technology of yore.

Happy Labor Day Bilbo. Does retirement make it feel different?
