Cartoon Saturday

And here you thought March might be an improvement over February. Silly you.

First Son-in-Law Jared Kushner and several other White House remoras had their long-standing "provisional" top-secret security clearances revoked; speaking of Mr Kushner, intelligence reports indicate that officials in at least four countries privately discussed ways they could manipulate him by taking advantage of his complex business arrangements, financial difficulties and lack of foreign policy experience; in the ongoing commercial response to the Parkland, Florida, school massacre, sporting goods retailer Dick's announced it would no longer sell "assault-style" rifles*; a federal judge once smeared and belittled by Donald Trump because of his ethnic background, has ruled in favor** of the Trump administration on one aspect of the border wall debate; and during closed-door testimony before the House Intelligence Committee***, White House communications director Hope Hicks acknowledged she has had to tell "white lies" on behalf of Donald Trump, although she argued that she hadn't had to lie about "substantive issues."

This week, since the House Select Committee on Intelligence has been showing little or no particular interest in or evidence of intelligence, I thought we might feature a selection of cartoons highlighting the world of intelligence, spies, and secret agents ...

Oops ...

Some secret agents pursue their tasks doggedly ...

Well, that should have been foreseen ...

As my father used to say, everybody's gotta start someplace ...

I think Q will be hearing about this ...

I guess it's a natural mistake ...

I can tell you that this is truer than you might suspect ...

Now, that's a good cover ...

Oh, oh ...

I hear he does his best work by nightie ...

And there it is - the first collection cartoons for the month of March ... I hope you enjoyed it, because it will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Dear Reader.

Have a good day and a great weekend. More thoughts tomorrow, on Musical Sunday.

* I still object to the use of the term "assault rifle." See this post, if you haven't seen it before.

** It should be noted that the judge's ruling includes the statement that, "In its review of this case, the Court cannot and does not consider whether underlying decisions to construct the border barriers are politically wise or prudent."

*** You should pardon the expression.
