Cartoon Saturday

Please, just make it stop ...

The already-turbulent presidential race took a new turn when President Biden announced his decision not to run in November, leaving Vice-President Kamala Harris as the presumptive Democratic nominee; Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle has resigned after a ferocious Congressional grilling over her service’s failures in the attempted assassination of Der Furor; a new report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows that infant mortality rose in the United States in 2022 for the first time in decades; the opening of the Summer Olympics in Paris was marred by an arson attack against the high-speed train lines serving the city; and in Death Valley, California, the National Park Service reported that a Belgian tourist was hospitalized with third-degree burns on his feet after walking barefoot on sand dunes estimated to have a temperature of more than 123 degrees.

This week, since the Religious Right is working hard to help Der Furor wins the election so it can impose the freedom of its religion on the rest of us, I figured it was time to run a collection of religion-themed cartoons before it becomes a crime ...

It's how I would do it if I were in charge ...

We have our idea of who's in charge in heaven, but what if it's not who we think? ...

There could be a lot of people who end up very surprised at the Pearly Gates ...

Following on the last cartoon, did you ever wonder why it is that it's always virgins getting sacrificed? ....

Don't look away too long ...

It's not a cartoon, strictly speaking, but it's accurate ... and not just on the Internet ...

Well, what else would they put in the pamphlet? ...

It seems to be borne out by the proliferation of megachurches with insanely wealthy preachers fleecing their flocks ...

Everyone wants to improve performance ...

The Bible has been edited, revised, translated, retranslated, re-edited, and tweaked so many times over the years that he could be right ...

And that's it for this week's collection of religion-themed cartoons ... let me hear you say hallelujah.

Have a good day and a great weekend, and be sure to come back tomorrow to look over your shoulders at Musical Sunday. More thoughts then.

    Hallelujah!

I’m always amazed how some expect everyone to follow their beliefs. Personal choice? Not allowed!
