Cartoon Saturday

For those of you who optimistically thought that April had to be an improvement over March ...

Donald Trump has ordered the National Guard to support the Border Patrol in securing the southern border, where illegal immigrant crossing is at a relatively low point; the looming trade war (easy to win, 'tis said) with China looms larger as the Chinese imposed tariffs on US soybeans and Donald Trump ordered his trade negotiator to identify another $100 billion in possible tariffs to impose on the Chinese; Donald Trump has yet again claimed - without evidence - that millions of people, especially in California, voted illegally in the 2016 election; the couple that rented out a room in a Capitol Hill condo for $50 per night to EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt became so frustrated with him as a tenant that they forced him out by changing the code on their locks; and Canadian police are investigating a deadly crash in which 14 members of a Canadian hockey team were killed when their bus was struck by a truck.

Most days I don't feel my age, but the way things are in the world, I'm feeling older and more decrepit by the day. How about some cartoons about old age and retirement?

This sums up a lot of days ...

The downside of coaching ...

This is what happens when you can't afford decent health insurance ...

Yep, that's me!

Funny ... that's how I get most of my exercise ...

Out of the mouths of babes ...

True ...

There comes a time when you really appreciate the discounts, but they come with the shock that you actually qualify for them ...

Me, too ...

The old fogies' conversation planner ...

And that's it for the Geezer Edition of Cartoon Saturday ... I hope you enjoyed it.

It's going to be a busy weekend here in NoVa. Tonight, I'll be announcing at the Spring Showcase at Forever Dancing, and tomorrow I'll enjoy Sunday brunch with the local grandchildren (oh, and their parents) before heading to Dance Studio Lioudmila to emcee their Spring Showcase. I hope these represent signs that spring really is springing.

Have a good day and a great weekend. More thoughts tomorrow, when Poetry Sunday rolls back in.
