This week I'll celebrate my 74th birthday. I often wonder that I've made it this far, given that I grew up full of vaccines, drank water from the garden hose, rode in the back of open pickup trucks (and the bucket of Mr Schmedlap's earth mover), and walked long distances after dark to visit friends. But I've made it this far and - as today's song suggests - you can tell the road hasn't always been easy ...
