An Interview You Ought to Read
Michael Hayden* had a well-rounded career in the world of intelligence. He was a career intelligence officer in the Air Force, rising through the ranks to retire as a full general. He served as the commander of the Air Force's Air Intelligence Agency**, Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and Director of the National Security Agency. When he talks about matters related to the world of intelligence, you need to listen.
Take a few minutes to read this interview with Playboy magazine (which is as famous for the quality of its interviews as for its other ... features). It's the best thing you'll read about the world of intelligence any time soon.
And if you like it, take your happy backside to the library and check out General Hayden's fascinating memoir Playing to the Edge.
Everyone watches television series and Jason Bourne movies and thinks he's an expert on intelligence. Let yourself be educated by a real expert.
Have a good day. More thoughts tomorrow.

That was a very thoughtful, balanced interview. I read it in its entirety.
A very interesting, open, and thoughtful interview. I too read it all and am more informed. I'd have guessed some of what he said but now know much more.
Thanks!
A very compelling interview....sound thinking.
