Cartoon Saturday

Isn't this &%^$# year over yet? ...

Anti-vaccine conspiracy theorists found new "proof" that Covid-19 is a hoax when they noticed that the spelling of the Greek letter "omicron," which designates the latest variant of the Covid-19 virus, is an anagram both of "moronic" and of "oncomir," which is an RNA molecule associated with cancer; Florida governor Ron DeSantis has proposed reestablishing an independent state-level World-War-II-era military force "not encumbered by the federal government" and under his exclusive command; as it struggles with resurgent Covid-19 and its new variants, Germany has reimposed a lockdown on unvaccinated citizens; the Supreme Court appears to be leaning toward overturning the Roe v Wade decision, once again outlawing abortion in the United States; and in Florida (where else?) a man has been charged with second degree murder after beating his father to death in an argument over a television set ... the accused said he told his father he wanted to buy a new television set, but his father wanted to give him a new one, starting an argument that led to the murder of the, sadly, over-generous father.

This week, in honor of my sense of deep depression about the state of our government, a collection of cartoons about our government seem to be in order ...

Another school shooting? Who has the key for that locker where we store the thoughts and prayers? ...

The Democratic and Republican approaches to governing ...

Sad, but true ...

Even more sad, even more true ...

"Kill Bill," updated for 2021 ...

This was funnier when it was still possible for the bar to be lowered ...

Yes, yes it is ...

A day in the life of a member of Congress ...

He must be a Republican ...

It's a good question with no good answer ...

And that's it for this week ... I've done enough embarrassed laughing at our elected reprehensives.

Have a good day and a great weekend. More thoughts tomorrow, when Musical Sunday returns to usher in the holiday season. See you then.

All of these are sadly true.

Another fine collection! That last one is great but my favorite is the knife fight. Thanks!
