Today is May 3rd ... can you believe we're almost halfway through 2014? And that the news isn't any better than 2013? Oy ...
Still picking at the scab, trying to make sure Benghazi never goes out of the public eye, never-say-die Congressman Darrell Issa has subpoenaed Secretary of State John Kerry - who had absolutely nothing to do with it - to testify before his committee; and just in case Congressman Issa misses something, House Speaker John Boehner announced that he will form a select committee to investigate the Benghazi attack*; the first U.S. case of deadly Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus has been reported in Indiana; Apple announced that it will market an updated and, believe it or not, cheaper MacBook Air laptop; and police in Wacesa, Minnesota, responded to a 911 call and thwarted a gun and bomb attack being planned by a 17 year old student on a local school.
Thank goodness for the cartoons, eh?

Some busy mothers have to plan carefully ...
And others minimize the effort through careful selection of clothing ...
Even snowladies worry about their grooming ...
Popular product origins revealed ...
I went to college in the late 60's and early 70's, when shaving wasn't such a big deal for many women. And it goes back farther than that, too ...

It's always good to liven up your business presentations ...
Finally, I think we may have found the problem with Congress ...
And so ends our first Cartoon Saturday for May, 2014. It looks as if it's going to be a very nice weekend here in NoVa, so maybe I can get some yard work done. Or maybe I can sit on the deck with a book and a gin and tonic. Decisions, decisions ...
Have a good day. Come back tomorrow for Poetry Sunday.

Lethargy drinks! I think I've been drinking those
Great cartoons. I've been drinking a few lethargy drinks.
I vote for option 2. Have a few G&Ts and enjoy the day! Thanks for the good cartoons. They are always appreciated.
I'm glad to find out the origins of turtle wax. An I'm all for lethargy drinks.
I was going to make a comment about lethargy drinks but I see the topic has been well covered already.
I've seen worse and more boring slide shows.
Someone must have slipped me a lethargy drink.
