The hits just keep on coming...to your brain...with a two-by-four ...
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, reacting to the imposition of new sanctions on his country because of its nuclear weapons program, ordered his military to ready its nuclear weapons for use "at any time;" the GOP continued its headlong race toward self-destruction and irrelevance with a debate in Michigan that started with a discussion of the size of Donald Trump's penis; a stretch of Interstate 80 in California has been the scene of as many as six drive-by shootings* since November of last year; the US economy added 240,000 jobs in February and unemployment stayed at 4.9%, a level considered "full employment" by some experts and "a miserable performance by a failed president" by the GOP; and a car bomb exploded Friday in Belfast, Northern Ireland, seriously injuring a prison official.
There are 248 days until the presidential election, and the GOP front-runners are analyzing the size of Donald Trump's manly hydraulics. The next eight months are going to be more awful than I thought, so we'd better get to the cartoons right away ...
No central theme this week, just a collection of cartoons that leaped out of my file and begged to be shared with you.
There are lots of things I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole ... and I'm just a 5-10 Hungarian ...
And that's it for your first Saturday of March.
It's going to be a cold and cloudy weekend here in NoVa, with the possibility of another round of conversational snow this afternoon. The good news is that by Tuesday, the temperatures are expected to be in the low 70s. Oy. Later this afternoon, Agnes and I will be meeting up with fellow blogger Kathy A and her husband for lunch and to catch up on our efforts to solve all the world's problems. It's going to need to be a very long lunch. I'll let you know if we're successful.
Have a good day and a great weekend. See you back here again tomorrow for Poetry Sunday. More thoughts then.

Strategy meeting at Trump campaign headquarters ...
Well, I guess it does ...
A hobby that pays for itself is not a bad thing ...
This is how it probably starts ...
You can't be too careful with literal speech ...
Ah, yes ...
At work, I often review official documents and have three options to recommend to my government betters: concur, concur with comments, and nonconcur. I often wish that "concur with gritted teeth" was a fourth option ...
Especially if he's voting in Texas ...
Always read the fine print in the contract ...

Those were nice, funny cartoons!
Don't use certain expressions around literalists, like stab in the back, 10 foot pole, or make sacrifices.
And the good news? Maybe those Korean missiles are trained on Trump?
And only 1489 days until the 2020 election.
I'm looking forward to the 2024 election.
Bilbo, Cartoon Saturday is always a pleasure!
Calm, yet kicks serious butt? Sounds familiar?
