Cartoon Saturday

Welcome to the first Cartoon Saturday of 2018!

Donald Trump disbanded his much-derided presidential commission on voter fraud, which one White House adviser allegedly described as a "shit-show;" the bromance between former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon and Donald Trump collapsed spectacularly, with Trump claiming that "when Bannon lost his (White House) job, he lost his mind;" a huge winter storm hammered the entire east coast of the United States, dumping vast quantities of snow and plunging temperatures into the single digits; Sears and K-Mart have announced plans to close another 103 stores between them; and two major flaws in computer processor chips have placed millions of Windows and Apple devices at risk for data theft by hackers.

This week, what could be more appropriate than cartoons about winter and snowmen? ...

Go back, Frosty ... it's a trap!! ...

One of those mysteries of the universe ...

CSI: Winter ...

Looks like an obvious diagnosis to me ...

Had Dante but known ...

Macabre, but ...

Weather forecasts in the era of Trump ...

Awwwww ...

She's ready! ...

How true, how true ...

And that's our first Cartoon Saturday for the new year - I hope you were sitting someplace warm while you read it.

It's going to be another weekend of bitter cold and snow for much of the United States, making me very glad that Agnes's current primary hobby is making quilts. I plan to spend the next few days sitting in a chair in front of the fire, wrapped in huge, comfy quilts, and sipping hot spiced cider. We'll be complaining about the summer heat and humidity soon enough.

Have a good day and a great weekend. More thoughts coming.

A stellar collection! Especially liked two: The Council and Snow Mensch.

Enjoy being snuggled in. I know we are.
