Cartoon Saturday

And we've survived another week of the coronavirus ... and Der Furor's constant reminders of what a great job he's doing about it ...

Nudists in Czechoslovakia are being warned by police to wear face masks; the owner of a bar in Georgia removed more than $3,700 in currency that customers have stapled to the walls over the years and gave it to her unemployed staff members; British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been released from intensive care, and is slowly recovering from his coronavirus infection; the acting Secretary of the Navy resigned after flying round-trip to Guam at taxpayer expense* to deliver an angry, profane denunciation of the captain of the USS Theodore Roosevelt to the ship's crew; and Ammon Bundy, the anti-government activist rancher who led an armed occupation of a federal wildlife refuge in Oregon in 2016, says he will hold an Easter gathering in defiance of stay-at-home orders intended to control the coronavirus pandemic.

In a time when the world seems to be going crazy, you have to be philosophical. To help you out, here's a collection of cartoons about philosophy.

Yes. Yes, we do ...

"The absurdity of all human activity" is a bit much all at once ... I'd just stick with "the absurdity of an average speech by Der Furor" ...

There are awful puns, and there are awful puns ...

This way to the daily press briefing ...

The right place to look for your lost soul** ...

Aha! ...

Why, indeed? ...

Tough luck, Diogenes ...

"Many people are saying" seems to be the foundation of Der Furor's core beliefs, such as they are ...

If there's such a thing as a "good death" ...

And finally, as a special bonus this week, how about Mel Brooks' classic bit from "History of the World, Part 1" as Comicus, the Standup Philosopher, at the unemployment office ...

Have a good day, a great weekend, and keep washing your hands. More thoughts tomorrow.

Wonderful! I laughed over and over. Each one is a gem. My favorites: Lost and Profound and Why-Fi.
