How's That Again?

Yesterday we spent the day in the company of our local granddaughters. We visited the National Zoo, made "bath bombs," and generally expended a huge amount of energy. In short, I'm exhausted, and so today's post will be a simple one: another collection of Great Moments in Editing. Strap in, it's going to be a rough ride ...

I think it's the parents, not the babies, who need these products ...

I knew Betty White was famous and a senior citizen, but I didn't know she was famous for this ...

How to spend your Christmas morning ...

I wonder if anyone claimed it? ...

All those "Archie" comics I read when I was young, and little did I know what a fun guy he must have been ...

You don't suppose it could have been Archie, do you? ...

I think maybe I'll double-check with Google Maps or GPS ...

Perhaps he had a screw loose ...

You can't be too careful ...

I guess expectations were low ...

And there you have it ... proof once again (as if you needed it) that there really is a market for good proofreaders out there. Something to look forward to when I retire.

Have a good day. More thoughts coming ... along with the possibility of more snow tomorrow. Stay warm.

The 'wearing pretty panties' advice is often given by mothers. I never saw it in an ad before.

I wonder if the hot dog ads were double entendres back then?

Some might have even been intentional.

I remember an old WOWL newscast where the weatherman said, "It's going to be rainy and slick tonight, so be sure to wear your rubbers - pause - on your feet."

Snicker from sideline.

The Legion should re-think its menu.

It's fun when proofreaders miss howlers!

Betty White is old. Maybe she did sew the flag.

I always love these. Sometimes proofreaders seem to have had the day off. Thanks Bilbo!

That panty ad was deliberately coy. Actually, mothers counsel wearing nice panties for other reasons. They are practical.
