Musical Sunday

Chapters 7 through 11 of the Biblical book of Exodus tell the story of how God brought down ten plagues on Egypt to force the Pharaoh to release the Israelites: water turned to blood; frogs; lice; flies; livestock pestilence; boils; hail; locusts; darkness; and the killing of firstborn children. These were horrific plagues, to be sure, but little did the people of those times know that much worse was yet to come ...

Lawyers.

Yes, Dear Readers, one need only look at the headlines to see the number of lawyers either in jail, under indictment, debarred, or chained to the lawless and weighty anchor* of Der Furor to know that a new, more virulent pestilence is at hand. While the plagues of Egypt, the bubonic plague, the Spanish Flu, SARS, and Covid-19 could eventually be bested by science**, it seems that nothing can save us from the legal plague about which Tom Paxton warns us in today's Musical Sunday - the plague of One Million Lawyers ...

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

And yet, try to have a good day and enjoy the rest of your weekend. More thoughts coming, unless some lawyer sues me.

I was looking for a good lawyer comment on google and found this.

"Is being a lawyer happy?
On average, lawyers rate the meaningfulness of their work a 2.6/5. The majority of lawyers struggle to find any sort of meaning in their work, likely resulting in less satisfaction with their career overall."
