Ten Violent and Racist "Young" Republicans
and
Vice President JD Vance*
An October 14th report by Politico detailed thousands of racist and violent private messages exchanged in the Telegraph app among "young" GOP leaders in New York, Kansas, Arizona and Vermont. Many of the chat members already work inside government or party politics, and one (Samuel Douglass) is a sitting state senator in Vermont. I place the word "young" in quotes because all of the participants were in their mid- to late 20s and 30s ... old enough to know better.
In messages they privately feared might be exposed ("If we ever had a leak of this chat we would be cooked"), they referred to Black people as monkeys and “the watermelon people,” and fantasized about putting their political opponents in gas chambers. They talked about raping their enemies and driving them to suicide, and praised Republicans they believed support slavery.
The appalling volume and nature of the reported chat messages brought Republican hypocrisy to new, soaring heights in view of the GOP's drumbeat that "radical left Democrats" are a hateful and violent danger to the nation. The hypocrisy was brazenly put on display by Vice President JD Vance, who said on “The Charlie Kirk Show” that
“The reality is that kids do stupid things, especially young boys** ... They tell edgy, offensive jokes. That’s what kids do. And I really don’t want us to grow up in a country where a kid telling a stupid joke — telling a very offensive, stupid joke — is cause to ruin their lives.”
“This is far worse than anything said in a college group chat, and the guy who said it could become the AG of Virginia. I refuse to join the pearl clutching when powerful people call for political violence.”
Whataboutism lives. By the way, Mr Vance also referred to those who leaked the story as "scumbags," an term used by Der Furor and his admirers to reflect their deep commitment to calm leadership and competent discourse with their political opponents.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Dear Readers, ten violent and racist "young" Republicans and the sitting Vice President of the United States are the joint winners of the Left-Cheek Ass Clown Award for October. Portland frogs, they're not.

** It should be noted that two of the "young boys" were women. and just to foot-stomp the obvious once again, these "young boys" were all adults.
