Yes, Dear Readers, a new month is here, and that means two more opportunities to shine the spotlight of disgust upon worthy dishonorees. It is the first Friday of the month, and so it's time to highlight
The Right-Cheek Ass Clown for May, 2016
I don't need to remind everyone of the quasi-dramatic events of our three-ring presidential campaign circus during the past week, in which Donald Trump - probably the most stupendously unqualified candidate ever to seek the office - advanced to become the presumptive GOP candidate for the office once held by George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The presidential campaign season is a fitting backdrop for the Right-Cheek Ass Clown selection, which is not Donald Trump*. Rather, the award for this period goes to
The American Electorate
We know, because the media have been telling us endlessly for the last year, that the American people are fed up with government, with the two major political parties, and with Wall Street and Big Business interests that have gutted the Middle Class while the government and the two major political parties have empowered them to do so. And how do the American people respond to this situation? By re-electing the same senators and reprehensives responsible for the current situation, and by turning a deaf ear to the ridiculous stew of insults, contradictory promises, and blatant lack of qualification exhibited by a man profoundly unfit to be the leader of the nation and the free world.
We're in a mess, and we only have ourselves to blame.
For their insistence on voting against their own interests, happily swallowing the most ludicrous of campaign promises, The American Electorate is designated as the Right-Cheek Ass Clown for May, 2016.
One can only hope it will wake up before November.
Have a good day. Come back tomorrow for Cartoon Saturday. More thoughts then.

* Mr Trump has won this award on numerous occasions in the past. It's time to give someone else a chance.

Sigh...
Another good call.
We got ourselves in this mess.
Sadly, collectively we're responsible for the two presumptive candidates.
Excellent choice. Unfortunately....
We're in trying times.
We need new political parties.
We need an updated voting system.
Nobody is very happy about it to be sure.
We're screwed.
