Cartoon Saturday

January was yucky. February doesn't seem to be a whole lot better, based on early signs ...

A resolution passed by the Republican National Committee censured Representatives Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger for participating in the investigation of the January 6th riot at the US Capitol and called the violent insurrection, in which five people died, the Capitol Building was ransacked and vandalized, and the mob searched for individual lawmakers and called out to hang the Vice President, "an act of legitimate political discourse;"  he city of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, has announced it will dismantle a historic bridge to allow passage for multibillionaire Jeff Bezos's giant luxury yacht, with Bezos paying the cost to dismantle and restore the historic span; the leader of the so-called "Islamic State" was killed in a US Special Forces raid, according to an announcement from the White House; in Texas, a butterfly conservatory is closing down following years of harassment from right-wing activists angry because it objected to Der Furor's border wall; and two judges from the reality show "The Masked Singer" walked off the set when it was revealed that one of the contestants was Der Furor's mouthpiece and insurrectionist gadfly Rudy Giuliani.

Medical care, whether professional or hyperconservative "I-know-better-than-all-them-doctors-gimme-my-horse-dewormer" style, is on everyone's mind during the pandemic. Here are a few cartoons that take a look at this important topic ...

This one's funny until it isn't ...

The wish we all have when it's time to see the doctor ...

Sad, but frequently true ...

This will be the next thing to come between you and the video appointment with your doctor ...

This one's for my friend Dave, the consummate proofreader ...

All medicine is specialized nowadays ...

I think I've had this conversation with my own doctor ...

And this is where we are ...

This is the real pandemic in 2022 America ...

I think this was how encounters under the mistletoe started for the last two years ...

And there we are - riffs on the theme of medical care to start off this month of Cartoon Saturdays ... I hope you enjoyed them.

Have a good day and a great weekend. More thoughts coming.
