Snow Jobs, Part 2

These are for Amanda, who said she'd be more than happy to help me with the snow...

I took these pictures this morning at about 7:15, after I'd already spent about an hour and a half shoveling out our sidewalks and driveway and cleaning off Agnes's car. Twice. It's now 8:49, the snow is still coming down heavily, and you can hardly tell I did anything. Sigh.

The Federal Government (and, thus, my office at the Pentagon) are on "two-hour late reporting, with unscheduled leave authorized." Agnes tried to get up the hill to go to work at the credit union, but didn't make it a quarter of the way before sliding back down. Even our neighbors with their big four-wheel-drive pickups aren't trying to go anywhere. I think it's going to be one of those unscheduled leave days.

And the snow is too dry even to make a good snowman.

Ain't this just fun...

Come on, Spring!

When I left the National Museum of Women in the Arts after the ball Saturday night it was raining. By the time I got off the Metro at Dunn-Loring it was snowing. I didn't go outside at all yesterday and when I went out to clean off the car this morning the snow was 6 inches above the tops of my boots, plus our parking lot hasn't been plowed yet and the subdivision street NEVER is, so I'm not risking my butt on the highway when nothing I'm working on is so important that it can't wait a day. Making a pot of soup and thinking of you, and hoping my boss can forward some work home to me so I don't blow a whole day.

Wv - prefloph - The part of the fall where you are still in the air but haven't hit the ground yet.

I've heard about the snow in the US....just when you think it's safe to go out...

WOW! That is a LOT of snow! It looks like even if all your blog friends were to go there and help you, it would STILL look like that.

I hope you and Agnes had a cozy day in the house.

Thanks for the photos :)
