Global Warming - Proven!

I have a long-running intellectual argument going with my friends Bill and the Eminence Grise over the reality of global warming. I believe in it, they don't. Actually, I don't believe in global warming as it's popularly defined (i.e., the rise in overall global temperatures is the result of human activity rather than a function of normal climactic cycles)...what I believe is that what we call global warming is the result of natural climactic cycles exacerbated by human activity. After all, I don't think you can discount the effect of 6 billion people - and their industries, effluvia, respiration, and so on - on the climate.

But the issue has been resolved.

Global warming is real.

My friend Debbie has sent incontrovertible proof that even the most skeptical scientist or rock-ribbed ultra-conservative Republican can't ignore. Here it is - a chart that reflects the rise in global temperatures over time:

Don't thank me, thank Debbie. It's all part of our collective attempts to bring you the truth.

Have a good day. More thoughts tomorrow.

ha-ha. That's cute.
And here I thought you were going to link to the op ed I saw the other day correcting the general use of the term "global warming" to "climate change" (which is a result of general global warming) and is the culprit behind the huge piles of snow you and I have, while ski areas in Vermont and Colorado are begging for some snow.

LOL! Speaking of Global Freezing. Lake Erie is frozen for the first time in 14 years. If only I could get up there to see it.

Bilbo, you know Global Warming is a hoax created by Al Gore so he can make money on the lecture tour, not to mention money on his book and the millions he's making selling Carbon Credits. Follow the money trail to find the truth!

Katherine - the "climate" vs "weather" issue is one that I've finally figured out. Took long enough...

Andrea - Lake Erie frozen...who'd a thunk it?

Mike - I saw her first.

John - Thank Debbie!

SusieQ - if you think I'm touching my next line with a ten-foot pole, you are sadly mistaken...

Amanda - nope!

Debbie - it's just unfortunate that a real issue like climate change is linked in people's minds with buffoons that muddy the intellectual water. Anyhow, I'd follow the money...if I had any.
